About the role
We release often and our customers pay for licences at checkout, so a broken basket or payment step is expensive. Today our coverage is a mix of unit tests, plugin end-to-end suites and manual checks.
You would own the test strategy across two storefronts, an admin UI and a set of plugins, and build it into something the whole team relies on.
What you will do
- Design and maintain end-to-end tests for checkout, payment and account flows with Playwright.
- Add API and contract tests for the GraphQL and REST endpoints our plugins expose.
- Make test results visible and actionable in CI, and keep the suites fast and stable.
- Reproduce and characterise customer-reported bugs before they reach engineers.
- Champion accessibility and cross-browser checks on the storefronts.
What we are looking for
- Three or more years in test automation for web applications.
- Solid Playwright or Cypress experience, and TypeScript or JavaScript to write tests in.
- Understanding of HTTP, REST and GraphQL, and of how to test them.
- A tester’s instinct for edge cases, and the patience to document what you find.
- Right to work in the UK.
Nice to have
None of these are required. They are things that would make you productive sooner.
- Testing Stripe or other payment integrations, including 3-D Secure flows.
- Performance or load testing (k6, Artillery).
- Experience with Vitest or Jest for unit-level coverage.
The process for this role
- Application review (within 5 working days) — We read every application ourselves and reply to everyone, whatever the outcome.
- Intro call (30 minutes) — A 30-minute video call about the role, your background and what you are looking for.
- Technical conversation (90 minutes) — A working session with two engineers on a realistic problem from our codebase. No whiteboard puzzles and nothing to prepare in advance.
- Meet the team (45 minutes) — A relaxed conversation with the people you would work with day to day, and a chance to ask us anything.
- Offer — A written offer with salary, start date and terms. We aim to move from application to offer in under three weeks.
You will receive a reference number the moment you apply and can follow your application through each stage. We reply to every applicant.
